 Most BCBS members pay for a standard urgent care visit. Your exact cost depends on your specific plan, whether you’ve met your deductible, and the services received during your visit.

No — urgent care visits don’t require a referral, even on BCBS HMO plans. Urgent care is considered immediate-need care and is covered directly under your plan. Sometimes, with out-of-state plans, they may ask for a referral after the visit.

We verify your benefits at your visit. We have a flat rate even when your deductible does apply. The cost is typically under $170. 

CityDoc participates in the BlueCard program, so out-of-state BCBS members typically receive in-network benefits when visiting our Texas locations. Bring your card and we’ll process your visit under your home plan.

Most BCBS plans cover telehealth, including Video Visits with CityDoc providers. Your cost for a Video Visit is generally the same as an in-person visit.

For most visits, no. You pay for your urgent care visit at checkout. If additional services are performed (like an X-ray, lab work, or stitches), you may receive a separate Explanation of Benefits from BCBS reflecting how those services were processed.
