Many factors will determine what immunizations, prescriptions and illness preparation you will need to consider. Adventurous travelers that venture out to remote areas of developing countries will require a more thorough evaluation of needed immunizations and treatments for preventable diseases, which can require a series of injections. Recommendations for immunization are developed by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and are published on the Internet at www.cdc.gov/travel/.

Immunizations Available ONLY at the Preston Urgent Care Center:

• Measles/Mumps/Rubella
• Pneumococcal – Ordered on Patient Request
• Varicella – Ordered on Patient Request
• Meningococcal Meningitis
• Typhoid – Ordered on Patient Request
• Shingles / Zostavax – Ordered on Patient Request

City Doc Urgent Care Centers also provide information on specific preventive behaviors or medications that may be helpful in the treatment against diseases such as malaria and cholera for which no vaccines are available.
