Summer Vacation Summer is the prime time for travel, and it is quickly approaching! With people planning vacations all around the globe, it is important to remember a few important things that should be done before traveling. There are many diseases and illnesses that you become susceptible to when traveling – especially depending on the location that you are traveling to. Particularly, if you are traveling out of your country. If you are planning to do some international traveling this summer, here are a few things to remember to check off your to-do list before heading out:
  • Ask your doctor about certain preventative measures that could be taken – rather it be behavioral or medication. It is always important to know what to look out for.
  • Get your immunizations and vaccinations. Most of the diseases that you risk encountering could be preventable with a vaccination, such as: TDAP, Measles/Mumps/Rubella, Flu, Meningococcal Meningitis and others.
  • Check with your insurance to see if your policy applies for overseas for emergencies. Not all health insurance policies will cover medical costs associated with anything that could happen while you are out of the country. If your insurance does not cover overseas, you might want to consider additional supplemental insurance.
You will always have a more relaxed vacation if you are adequately prepared ahead of time. Don’t forget to make a to-do list, and add these items, before you begin your journey. Contact Us.
