Urgent Care Center For Experience

I’ve been to my fair share of urgent cares in my lifetime and each one has left me with a general, unenjoyable experience. Most of the time it costs way too much money and time for a simple solution. Usually, I’m also extremely sick in a waiting room for a long period of time.

But this time was different. It was the first time I’ve gone to CityDoc and it won’t be the last. Not because it was cheap or because I didn’t spend a lot of time in the waiting room. It wasn’t because it was a nice clinic or because I was able to check-in online. I mean, all those reasons contributed for sure, but the thing that stood out to me about CityDoc, was that they genuinely cared. To them, it wasn’t just about collecting a paycheck, it was about making sure that I was alright.

From the moment I walked into the clinic on West 7th Street in Fort Worth, it was a whole new experience. The clinic just seemed happy, which is weird for a place where the sick and injured go to get taken care of. I was immediately (and happily) greeted by the front desk person, with her then quickly and promptly giving me a small amount of paperwork to fill out, not that huge packet that most places give you for your first time. Shortly after turning it in, I was called back by a sweet, smiling nurse who quickly took my vitals and escorted me to a bright, clean exam room.

After going over and chronicling the long list of symptoms and realizing I was highly dehydrated, she quickly got me some water and made sure that I wasn’t in any pain whatsoever. Honestly, I was surprised because at any other urgent care experience, I was just another patient. But she constantly checked on me while they ran my tests (for strep and the flu) and soon after, the nurse practitioner came in and made sure I was doing all right.

In the end, I only had a throat infection. It hurt and it was sore, but I felt, I don’t know, just better knowing that these people, from the front desk person to the nurse to the nurse practitioner cared and made sure it was just a throat infection. I don’t know if I’ll need urgent care in the future, but I do know that I’ll be going to CityDoc because of my awesome experience.
